High-Efficiency Laser Cutting

November 24, 2025

In high-power laser cutting (especially when cutting carbon steel or stainless steel), nitrogen (N2) is typically used as the auxiliary gas. The primary functions of nitrogen here are:

Preventing oxidation:At high temperatures, metals can react with oxygen in the air, forming an oxide layer. As an inert shielding gas, nitrogen displaces the oxygen at the cutting point, ensuring a smooth, oxidation-free cut surface that appears silver-white (for carbon steel) or retains the metal's original color (for stainless steel), significantly improving cutting quality.

Blowing away molten slag:The high-speed flow of nitrogen effectively blows away the molten metal from the cut seam, resulting in a clean incision.

Due to the requirements of actual cutting operating conditions, carbon molecular sieves (CMS) typically need to withstand high pressures ranging from 1.0 to 1.7 MPa. In response to this, we have developed high-pressure resistant molecular sieves, which will enable you to achieve hassle-free high-pressure gas production.
